The Bad

Link building is not easy. I know you must be thinking otherwise, I mean, if all you have to do is place your links on a lot of sites to get social proof then how hard can it be, right? Well, this is not the case.

• Not all links placed on a site counts

However, when you use a backlink checker to check for backlinks, you'll see those links counted as backlinks, this does not mean it will help you get a better rank. Many website owners have been deceived by SEO agencies and freelancers who promise to give you 15000 backlinks to "improve your site" but after you pay for the service you see your backlinks count but either see a rise in traffic which later drops weeks later or no relevant change at all.

The Ugly

 15000 backlinks mean they did this automatically and that means bad SEO practice. Having no hike in traffic or no traffic is the least of your worries, being penalized by google with hardly any traffic after that should be your main concern. Do you remember how annoying it is for Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to be on your trail? Google does the exact thing and does some sort of shadow banning that leaves you with little traffic.

The Good

Though backlinks that count can increase your traffic drastically and aren't easy to find, it's still not the end of the world, many people are still building relevant backlinks and you can too, with the right knowledge and good strategies you can make this happen and this will be the result

1) Google's algorithm! It is no coincidence that when you google a keyword and check the first 4 results on a backlink checker, you will notice that they all have so many backlinks. • It is better to target brands in your niche so focus on a website in your niche or having a particular conversation or article about your niche with high domain authority. But if you get an opportunity to build a link in a high authority site that is not directly linked to your niche, go for it!
• When targeting brands to work with, you will need to go for brands that are not too big, brands with a DA20 to DA50. They have a higher chance of agreeing to work with you, so always check their Domain authority score before jumping in. But, if you find a strategy that can help you work with big sites, go for it.
• You will be writing to many website moderators and owners at some point, so learn a few friendly writing skills that will let you pitch your proposal in a polite and friendly manner. Try using Google to find templates anytime you are short of words.
• There is a tool you will continue to encounter while trying this strategy and this tool will help you with all the analysis for market research including checking backlinks and domain authority. The people you might want to work with might not want to. Well don't be discouraged, as long as you preserver, you will profit in few months.
